The full range of finishes for these knobs and knockers such as polished brass, polished & satin chrome, nickel & matt nickel, bronze, stainless steel and antique iron are possible. Presently polished chrome is the most popular finish but bronze is the recommended material for knobs and knockers. A bronze knob gains a beautiful patina with time and use as the finish will either maintain its brilliance where handled or age gracefully as the bronze oxidises. As no lacquer is used there are no long term problems for maintenance.
