The appeal of this natural finish is that, with constant handling, the oxide film will wear down to reveal the beauty of the polished bronze beneath. Surfaces that are not handled will continue to oxidise.
As these are cast bronze it is possible that some individual knockers may have casting pitts in their surface. These are quite natural and unavoidable.
